Orlando Magic vs Miami Heat preview
The Magic snapped a five-game losing streak with a 121-113 win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner had 32 points each in the win. The Magic got off to a hot start despite an oblique injury to Banchero. Wagner kept them afloat before going down with the same injury.
Orlando struggled in their absence. Despite Banchero’s return, the team failed to be competitive, as evident in its 3-7 record in the past 10 games. However, with Wagner now back as well, the Magic might be set for a strong finish to the season.
Jimmy Butler, meanwhile, could return to the lineup for the Heat after serving a two-game ban for missing a team flight. Things have turned sour between the two parties as they try to navigate a trade for Butler.
Despite Butler’s absence, Miami eked out a 106-97 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. Tyler Herro had 25 points and eight assists, while Nikola Jovic and Terry Rozier contributed 17 and 16 points, respectively, off the bench.
Orlando Magic vs Miami Heat betting props
Franz Wagner’s points total is set at 20.5, which is under his season average of 24.5. He averaged 26.0 points since his return from the oblique injury and should be good to score over 20.5 points on Monday as well.
Meanwhile, Tyler Herro’s points total is set at 20.5. He's Miami’s primary offensive weapon and averages 24.0 points on the season. Bet on the over.
Orlando Magic vs Miami Heat prediction
The oddsmakers slightly favor the Heat to win at home, but we expect Orlando to get a win. While this is a game between two good defensive units, the offenses should do just enough to surpass the 207.5-point mark.
