Phoenix Suns starting lineup for the NBA 2023-24 regular season

To start the new season, the Phoenix Suns are set to face the Golden State Warriors later today at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. After losing in the second round of the 2023 playoffs to the Denver Nuggets, the team made the necessary offseason moves to improve their prospects of winning.

The Phoenix Suns made a major move in the offseason by acquiring Bradley Beal to join forces with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. As a result, Beal exercised his no-trade option to make his way to Phoenix. With the addition of Beal, the Suns now have three dynamic scorers on the team who are capable of scoring 22+ points per game.

With that said, if all remain healthy, this may be the team's starting lineup to be used for the entire NBA 2023-24 regular season, as per ESPN.

  • PG - Devin Booker
  • SG - Bradley Beal
  • SF - Josh Okogie
  • PF - Kevin Durant
  • C - Jusuf Nurkic

With Chris Paul no longer being on the team, Devin Booker will play the point guard position while Bradley Beal will be placed at the backcourt with him as the shooting guard. Josh Okogie gets the small forward spot while Kevin Durant is the power forward in the frontcourt next to Jusuf Nurkic.

As it stands now the playmaking duties might be divided between Booker and Beal with the goal of running a smooth offense. A lack of a proper floor general with the Phoenix Suns' starting lineup might prove to be troublesome for three ball-dominant scorers, but both Booker and Beal have made important strides in this area over the years.

For Booker, he is coming off a season where he averaged 5.5 assists per game, while Beal averaged 5.4 assists per game after putting up 6.6 assists in the season prior.

Besides the three-time all-star being a starter for the entire season, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported that Beal is "unlikely" to play in the team's first regular season game tonight due to his back injury.

According to Charania's report, the team is taking a "cautious approach" to Beal's back injury. As injuries are certainly a cause for concern, it is even more crucial for clubs to monitor their players in order to run a healthy unit in the postseason.

With Beal out of the Suns' starting lineup, Grayson Allen could possibly join the starters at the shooting guard position.

Moreover, the team's bench unit includes Jordan Goodwin, Keita Bates-Diop, Yuta Watanabe, Drew Eubanks, Bol Bol and Eric Gordon.
