6:00 AM

The Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks are both old teams lacking a true point guard, but they make up for it with their aged veterans. The Celtics and Mavericks have both gone 6-4 over their last 10 games. The Mavericks stand at 32-36; good enough for 10th in the West. There is a slim chance of them making it to the playoffs, provided they play well and the Lakers, Jazz and Rockets end the season poorly. The Celtics are perched comfortably in the 7th spot in the East with a 36-31 record. The Sixers are 9th in the East with a 26-42 record and it seems that the playoff race in the East is already decided. Expect the Celtics to take this one.

Chicago @ Minnesota

4:30 AM

The Bulls have shown remarkable resilience this season playing without Derrick Rose. They are 6th in the East with a 36-31 record and have won 4 of their last 10 games. The Timberwolves have thrown away another season, as they are well outside the playoff picture with a 23-43 record. They have only won 3 of their last 10 games. Expect the Bulls to make short work of the Wolves.

L.A. Lakers @ Golden State

8:00 AM

If the Lakers can win this, it will be huge for them. The Warriors are 39-31 thus far and the Lakers are 36-33. Not a huge gap there. Kobe tried to play through his hurt ankle vs the Pacers a few days ago, but he was hobbling hard and unable to get it going. Mike D’Antoni has said “probably Friday” for Kobe’s return from his ankle sprain. That is the Lakers vs. Wizards match tomorrow. When Kobe went down with the injury, he was said to be out indefinitely. Knowing Kobe, that means sooner rather than later. The Lakers have won 7 of their last 10 games and the Warriors have won 6 of their last 10. With or without Kobe, this Lakers team is difficult to beat when it gets going. If the Warriors can lull the Lakers into playing a fast paced game, they can beat them.

5:30 AM

This match is really a must watch contest. There are few teams in the East who can hold a candle to the Heat. The Bulls are one of them. They stand at 36-31 to the Heat’s league best 53-14. The Bulls have gone 4-6 in their last 10 games and the Heat have gone 24-0. There is a chance that the win streak of the Heat will continue when they reach the Bulls. The Heat will face the Pistons, Bobcats and the Magic before facing the Bulls. All three teams are woeful currently, but that doesn’t ensure anything after the Heat almost lost to the Cavaliers.

Sacramento @ Phoenix

7:30 AM

Neither team is exceptionally good, but when they are playing each other you can expect tight competition. The Kings have gone 25-44 thus far and the Suns have gone 23-46. Over the last 10 games, the Kings have won 5 and the Suns have won 3. Each team is eyeing the lottery currently, but neither will be tanking this one.

Utah @ Portland

7:30 AM

It is desperation time for the Utah Jazz. They are just nibbling at the heels of the Lakers for the 8th spot, standing at 34-34. The Blazers also have a outside chance of making it to the post-season as they stand at 32-36 currently. The Jazz have won 3 of their last 10 and the Blazers have won 5 and lost 5. The Rose Garden is a tough place to play at. The Blazers have gone 22-11 at home this season and will hold the advantage in this contest.
