LA Lakers superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been spectacular as of late. The team has started to show signs of life, especially after starting out the 2022-23 season 0-5

LA finds itself at 10-13 after Tuesday night's loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Including last night's 116-102 loss, the Lakers have won five of their past seven games. Davis attempted to play Tuesday night against the Cavaliers, but left after eight minutes due to a "non-COVID-19" illness.

As the Lakers prepare for the second game of a back-to-back on Wednesday night, the team is set to be shorthanded. NBA Insider Shams Charnia has reported that both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are out for tonight's game against the Toronto Raptors.

The LA Lakers being shorthanded against the Toronto Raptors is going to present a difficult challenge. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been spectacular for the team as of late.

Davis has been one of the most impressive players in the NBA lately. Before last night's game against the Cavaliers, Davis was averaging 42.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in his past three outings. He's currently averaging 27.3 points and a career-high 12.3 rebounds during the 2022-23 season.

After missing five straight games, James returned to the Lakers lineup and has also been brilliant with his play. In his past seven games, James is averaging 27.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists. He's also shooting 48.0% from the field and 45.3% from 3-point range during that stretch.

James was impressive against the Cavaliers on Tuesday night, finishing with 21 points, 17 rebounds and four assists. The Lakers are listing him as out with left ankle soreness, which will be something to monitor moving forward.

After Wednesday night's game against the Toronto Raptors, the Lakers will look to finish off their last two games on their road trip. That will include a Friday night showdown with the Philadelphia 76ers. After that, LA will take on the Detroit Pistons before returning home to face the Boston Celtics.
