Kevin Durant will become a free agent in the summer of 2019, and at this point, his future is very much up in the air. Whereas the Warriors are reportedly confident that the 30-year-old will stay for at least one more season, many NBA insiders expect the 2014 MVP to move on to a new challenge.

When asked for his insight on the bust-up between Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, Jefferson stated:

They know that there is an end to this, there is not a timeline that will last 5 or 10 years, this is one year... If KD wins a third Championship, and he has the same as LeBron, it is easier for him to walk somewhere else.
They (Golden State Warriors) know that there is no one who can really compete with them if they are on a high level, they should put it aside, then go their seperate ways amicably

Draymond Green and Kevin Durant clashed back in November after a disagreement over who should take the game-winning shot. The defending champions sided with Durant over the confrontation, and Green was forced to serve a one-game suspension.

Despite the media attention, the confrontation is unlikely to be the only factor in Durant's future. As Jefferson alluded to, Durant may just decide that he has achieved everything he possibly can with the Warriors, and ultimately move on, in pursuit of a new challenge.

No matter what the future holds for Durant, between now and June, he will be focused on sealing a third-consecutive Championship win with the Warriors.
