Bronny James’ draft projection revealed by anonymous NBA GM: “Have him pegged as a late first or early-second in the draft"

The Sierra Canyon senior has put together an impressive high school season. He's averaging 14 points, a team-high 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.8 steals on one of the top high school teams in the nation. As the 18-year-old weighs his options for the future, his name is beginning to be penciled in on NBA draft boards. He's projected to be a high pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

“We have him pegged as a late first- or early-second in that draft (2024), but who really knows? So much can and will change between now and then," per Sam Amico of Hoopswire.

LeBron and Bronny James set to become first NBA father-son duo?

With his high school season winding down, Bronny has narrowed down his college search to three choices: Oregon, Ohio State, and USC. A commitment is expected to be announced after the season.

As Bronny continues his journey to the NBA, his father will also be eagerly waiting. LeBron has been extremely open about his desire to play with his son and become the first father-son duo in NBA history.

“I need to be on the floor with my boy, I got to be on the floor with Bronny,” James told ESPN's Dave McMenamin. “Either in the same uniform or a matchup against him. But I would love to do the whole Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. thing. That would be ideal for sure.”

At 38 years old, LeBron has shown no signs of slowing down. He recently broke the NBA's all-time scoring record and suited up for his 19th all-star game this past weekend.

James is averaging 30.0 points 8.4 rebounds, and 7.0 assists this season. The Lakers currently sit 13th in the Western Conference with a 27-32 record. After an active trade deadline, LeBron and the Lakers will be focused on climbing the standings to secure a playoff spot.

LeBron James signed an extension with the Lakers before the season, which will keep him in Los Angeles through the 2024-25 campaign. His contract includes a player option for the following season, which is when Bronny James is eligible to be drafted into the NBA. The dream of playing with his son is well within reach. LeBron's free agency will be a notable storyline to follow in the coming years.
