The Golden State Warriors have been involved in many rumors this season due to their pursuit of another championship. The Warriors are still inconsistent past the halfway point of the season and could be making moves at the trade deadline (Feb 9).

Warriors president and general manager Bob Myers, who has a contract until the end of the season, revealed the team's plans for the deadline. Myers told Steiny and Guru of 95.7 The Game that the defending champs will monitor the trade and buyout market.

"We gotta look and see if there's something that makes sense to answer that question," Myers said. "We gotta see, is there someone out there that fills that spot? Is there someone in a buyout? Is there someone in a trade? Is there someone who supplants that and becomes the seventh guy, the sixth guy?"

Bob Myers also acknowledged that the Golden State Warriors might need to make a trade because of how tight the margin of error is for the season. The Western conference is stacked since only three games separates the fourth spot from the 13th spot.

"I think we stack up good enough, that's assuming health," Myers said. "But you always want to add to your margin of error. It's not a margin of error that I'm entirely comfortable with as it stands. ... Our margin of error is not what it was. The record is not what it was."

Myers added that it will be tough to find trade partners due to the number of competitive teams this season. They are unlikely to make a deal with anyone looking to beat them to the playoffs or possibly the NBA Finals.

Bob Myers has been with the Golden State Warriors since 2011, helping build a dynasty that has won four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022). However, Myers might be in his final season with the Warriors.

The 47-year-old executive has a contract until the end of the season, but Warriors ownership has not offered an extension. Sam Amick, Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic reported last week that Myers is looking to become the highest-paid executive in the league.

Myers could still receive it from the Warriors, but there would be no shortage of suitors for his services. The trio noted that the LA Clippers, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards could make an offer to Myers. The report also revealed that Myers might pursue other opportunities outside of the NBA.
