The Phoenix Suns had a very rocky 2022-23 season. Throughout the year, the organization has popped in and out of the playoff picture many times. Even Suns fans were beginning to lose faith in the team's ability to return to the NBA Finals. Everything changed, however, when superstar Kevin Durant was traded to Phoenix. The team's morale is back up and will look to make a deep run in the playoffs.

However, it appears that the Phoenix Suns have not finished assembling their championship team. According to Sports Illustrated, Terrence Ross, a veteran of the Orlando Magic, has agreed to a buyout and will join the Suns. This season, Ross is averaging 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. With Terrence, Phoenix hopes to add depth to their roster as they prepare for a playoff run.

Can the Phoenix Suns finally capture their first NBA title?

The Phoenix Suns in the last couple of seasons have proven to be worthy championship contenders. The Suns made their first NBA Finals appearance in 2021 since 1993. Phoenix ultimately lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games and concluded their season with heartbreak. They never made another trip to the Finals last season, but they were still one of the favorites to make it there.

This season has been a bit different. While the trio of Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul were determined to try again, the team's chemistry threw them off in the first half of the year. Starting the 2022-23 campaign as one of the top seeds in the West, the Phoenix Suns found themselves rapidly falling off the ladder. Some fans even lost hope in the team.

As a result, the organization fell apart. Deandre Ayton wanted out, and both Devin Booker and Chris Paul struggled to stay healthy throughout the season. It was a complete mess that appeared unfixable at one point. But things began to change when Phoenix began to win games again.

The Suns currently hold the fifth seed with a 31-27 record while waiting for their newly acquired superstar, Kevin Durant, to make his debut. Durant was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game prior to his injury. With him joining the dangerous trio, fans would want nothing less than an NBA championship.
