The trio of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and Khris Middleton might be separating. Sources reported that the Milwaukee Bucks have expressed interest in acquiring one of the Brooklyn Nets stars. But to make this goal happen, the Bucks need to let go of one of their stars.

According to sources, the Bucks are eyeing rising Nets star Cam Thomas to help improve Milwaukee's roster. However, to make this trade, the Bucks need to give up Khris Middleton. Milwaukee hasn't made an offer yet and hasn't decided on whether or not they'd want to let go of their veteran shooting guard.

It wouldn't be surprising if the Bucks' trade Middleton away. He has yet to return from injury and his numbers in recent seasons have declined from his All-Star form. With Thomas seemingly improving every season, he could be the missing piece Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard need to win a championship.

Comparing Khris Middleton and Cam Thomas

The Milwaukee Bucks look to improve their roster this season. Earlier this year, the Bucks struggled to find their rhythm and were at one point the second-worst team in the Eastern Conference. They were able to break out of that cold spell and are now sitting in sixth place with an 8-9 record. Milwaukee is currently on a four-game winning streak.

While they seem to be hitting their stride again, taking safety measures such as acquiring another key piece to their roster doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Middleton is yet to play this season so we can't say for sure if swapping him for Thomas would be a good decision or not. But if we're going to base their numbers from last season, the Nets star seems to be the superior player, at least in terms of scoring.

Last year, Thomas averaged 22.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists. Looking at Middleton's numbers, he averaged 15.1 ppg, 5.3 apg and 4.7 rpg. The veteran guard may not be a prolific scorer like he used to be, but his all-around game is certainly effective. It will all come down to what Milwaukee needs in the long run.
