Rival NBA organizations are calling to inquire about the availability of Kevin Durant as Thursday's trade deadline nears. The Brooklyn Nets, for now, are telling teams they have no interest in trading their star.

Brooklyn (32-21) looked like a potential NBA championship contender before Durant suffered an MCL sprain. Durant could return to the court before the All-Star break, but meanwhile former teammate Kyrie Irving requested a trade and has been shipped to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Irving trade has created the assumption to rival teams that Durant could be available for trade. Just this summer, Durant requested a trade as well. After no momentum on a deal progressed, Durant rescinded his request.

Time will tell if the Nets will entertain any serious offers. According to one of ESPN's NBA insiders, Adrian Wojnarowski, the Phoenix Suns have been interested in Durant, but Brooklyn has yet to show a willingness to trade him.

Will Kevin Durant remain with the Brooklyn Nets past Thursday's deadline?

The Brooklyn Nets have suddenly become one of the most fascinating teams in the league ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline. Brooklyn had looked like a contender until the Kyrie Irving trade shifted all thoughts.

It still seems unlikely that Brooklyn would find a suitable trade package for Kevin Durant. He's still one of the most dominant players in the league and is under contract with the Nets until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Brooklyn still has a roster that can make some noise in the Eastern Conference. While many teams are calling the Nets to inquire about Durant, Brooklyn could be aggressive before the deadline as well.

Durant has been sidelined since Jan. 12 with an MCL sprain and was attempting to return to the team before the All-Star break.

When healthy, KD has shown that he's an MVP-caliber player. Durant is averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game while shooting 55.9%.
