SABA U-16 Qualifiers: India cruise past Maldives while Nepal lose to Bangladesh

South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) giants India are always favourites to qualify from the SABA Zone to the FIBA Asia Basketball Championships and U-16 qualifiers is no exception.

The Indian U-16 boys team cruised past Maldives 95 – 50 in the opening match of the SABA U-16 qualifying round held at Dhaka, Bangladesh. One team will qualify from this event from SABA for the 3rd FIBA Asia U-16 Championship for Men scheduled to be held at Tehran, Iran from 25 September to 4 October 2013.

In another match on the day, Nepal bowed down to Bangladesh 45 – 63.

Nepal will now face India while Maldives will face Bangladesh on 4 July 2013.
