Second KES Inter-School Basketball Tournament: Valley Public win both titles

Valley Public School won the titles of both the senior girls and senior boys category of the Second KES Basketball Tournament here at Kathmandu, Nepal. In the senior girls final, Valley Public defeated Pennwood Academy 31-17 with the help of 19 points from Sonia Limbu.

Similarly in the boys category, Valley Public School defeated Mt. Glory School 70 – 66 with 26 points from Ranjit Magar. Earlier, Mt Glory School defeated hosts Kathmandu English School (KES) 61-55 & Valley Public School defeated Gyan Niketan School 84 – 50 in the boys semifinals while Pennwood Academy beat Everest School 33-23 and Valley Public School beat hosts KES 45-25 in the girls semifinal.

Sonia Limbu was adjudged the most valuable player of the girls section while Deepak Limbu was adjudged most valuable player in the boys category of the tournament. A total of 32 schools took part in the second edition of the tournament. Kathmandu English School is the organizer of the tournament. Officials from National Sports Council, representatives from Nepal Basketball Association and Principal of the Kathmandu English School distributed prizes to the winners of the tournament.
