Over the years, Steph Curry and LeBron James have battled it out on the NBA's biggest stage on multiple occasions. But the Golden State Warriors star has nothing but respect for his biggest rival.

Having been in the league for two decades now, LeBron has already made his mark in the history of the game. More importantly, he's been a strong influence on the current generation. In fact, most young players cite the LA Lakers forward as their favorite player growing up.

One player who was a fan of LeBron during their rise is none other than Steph Curry himself. While on JJ Redick's "The Old Man and The Three" podcast, he talked about a special moment they had while he was still playing at Davidson. At the time, LeBron signed a jersey and gave shoes to the college breakout star.

"Still have in my dad's house in North Carolina, I still have a Bron Jersey on the wall in my bedroom. He signed the next year he came to Charlotte and I went to the game and he signed a jersey and it's like the greatest shooter in North Carolina or something like that.
"He wrote and signed it and I kept it, gave me the shoes after the game and all that. So it's still wild just to think about the journey since then because uh who would have ever thought that."

Stories like this are a testament to the bond that all NBA players share with one another. Even though they are competitiors on the court, there is still a great deal of respect outside of the court.

For Steph Curry, the experience could be termed a whirlwind affair. When he was in college, LeBron James was at the top of his game. In a roughly six-year stretch, he went from getting his autograph to squaring off against the future Hall of Famer in the NBA Finals.

Without these two, NBA fans would not have gotten the most modern rivalry. The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers had countless battles that led to timeless performances and moments.

Steph Curry might have idolized LeBron James in his younger years, but now he can confidently say that he is his equal. When all is said and done, both will likely go down as two of the greatest players to ever step foot on a basketball court.
