Streetball Tournament '12, Delhi- Organized by Divya Singh, 23-24 June

Basketball requires 10 players on the floor. Often in pickup ball its just you and your buddies, and playing a full court game isn’t much fun with a couple of players. One of the most commonly played forms of basketball is half court pickup ball, and Divya Singh, former Indian team captain, is organizing such a 3×3 basketball event for Delhi. She said “Usually I stick to what I do best, work on full court basketball events, larger court and larger scale. But for this one, these enthusiastic kids, Simran Bhatal, Nikhil Kapoor and Abhijeet Bhatal, they convinced me to have something for the masses, for the U-19 crowd. I wouldn’t be taking this on without the eagerness of these kids. We have 20 teams registered already and more are pouring in.”

The Indian Women’s team has just won the gold medal in 3×3 basketball at the 3rd Asian Beach Games. What better way to celebrate that victory than by engaging in some 3×3 action on your own? Budding hoopsters in Delhi, rejoice. this weekend at DDA Sports Complex, Hari Nagar, you will have a chance to participate in a 3×3 basketball tournament.

Its open for all under 19, boys and girls. What are you waiting for? Go register yourselves! There are fewer girls teams than guys, hope the ratio goes up by the weekend. Registrations are open till spots are.

There are also extra events for the players, shooting contest and a timed skills drill, adding to the fun. The event will be held at the DDA Sports Complex, Hari Nagar on 23rd and 24th of this month. Be there!
