Will Chris Paul's Curse Cost The Rockets Their Title?

Houston Rockets v Phoenix Suns
Houston Rockets are 15-0 with Chris Paul playing

The Houston Rockets are probably having their best season of this decade. With the longest active win streak of the season (14 games) - also the fourth longest in the franchise history - with James Harden (averaging 31.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 9.1 assists, per game) as one of the top candidates for the MVP race.

The Rockets are 15-0 in games played by Chris Paul, which according to the Elias Sports Bureau, also makes him the only player to win each of his first 15 starts with a new team since starts were tracked in 1970-71. The Rockets seem to be the only team standing between the Golden State Warriors and the 2018 NBA Finals.

But, there exists a curse dangling over the head of former all-star Chris Paul, which may bring the hopes of passionate Houston fans crashing down.

2005-06 Rookie of the Year and a 9-time All-Star Point Guard, Paul is still considered to be one of the most gifted and talented PGs of the modern era. In the last 12 seasons of his career, he has made it to the playoffs nine times. But, Paul has NEVER SEEN A CONFERENCE FINALS GAME.

In fact, since the year 2000, only two teams have failed to reach the conference finals: the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) and the Los Angeles Clippers, both the teams, Chris Paul was the starting Point Guard for.

And now, Paul is with the Houston Rockets, who have been to the Western Conference Finals only once in the last 20 years - 2015.

Having said that, the playoffs are a long way ahead. What matters the most right now is the fact that the Rockets are 25-4 and are the best team in the West.
