The third Excelsior Cup inter-school basketball tournament has tipped off at Nepalese capital city, Kathmandu. A total of 32 boys’ teams are participating in the senior boys category while the junior boys category will see 24 teams fighting for the title.
On the opening day of the tournament, Arunodaya Secondary School and defending champions Niten Memorial School (NIMS) won their respective senior boys’ section matches. Arunodaya Secondary School defeated Saraswoti Boarding School 38-22 with Rajan Lama scoring 20 points for the winners, while Bikash Nakarmi posted game high 14 points as NIMS saw off Skylark School 55-40 in a competitive match.
In other matches of the opening day, Excelsior School, Deep Jyoti School, Daffodil School and NIMS recorded wins in junior boys’ section matches.
The Excelsior Cup inter-school basketball tournament is organized annually by The Excelsior School, Kathmandu, Nepal. This is the third edition of the tournament which will be held at the organizers basketball court in Southern part of the Nepalese capitol, Kathmandu.
