The scoring of Russell Westbrook, the MVP in the 2016-17 NBA season, went up a notch during the middle part of his career in the league.

A two-time NBA scoring champion (in the 2014-15 and 2016-17 seasons), Westbrook ranks fifth in our list and is the first player in this list with at least 20,000 points, a feat that has only been achieved by 46 players in NBA history.

Westbrook's best season in terms of scoring was the 2016-17 campaign with the Oklahoma City Thunder when he garnered 2,558 points. That year, he became the second player in NBA history to average a triple-double for the entire regular season (Oscar Robertson was the first).
