Bird was the face of the franchise in the 1980’s when the Celtics often took on their rival Los Angeles Lakers. He donned green and white for all 13 of his NBA seasons and became one of the greatest professional basketball players of all time.

He won three championships for the Celtics, the first one coming in 1981 and the next couple in 1984 and 1986.

The latter two featured Finals MVP performances by Larry averaging 27.4 ppg and 14.0 rpg in the 1984 Finals and following it up with 24.0 ppg, 9.7 rpg and 9.5 apg in the 1985 Finals.
His regular season expertise does not deserve any less attention. He won NBA's regular season MVP for three consecutive years from 1984-86, ending his career with an astounding average of 24.3 points per game along with 10 rebounds per game, shooting nearly 50 percent from the field.
Following his retirement, the Celtics retired Bird’s No. 33 jersey in 1993.
