Ben Simmons has become one of the most talked-about players in the NBA, due to his growing tensions with the Philadelphia 76ers. However, there is no denying that the Australian is a sensational hooper. Simmons was an important part of the 76ers team that topped the Eastern Conference last season.

He averaged 15.3 points per game last season, doing so on 55.7% shooting from the field. Simmons also had a stunning campaign at the defensive end. The 25-year old secured 7.2 rebounds per game, out of which 5.6 boards were at the defensive end. He was a strong contender to win the Defensive Player of the Year trophy, but eventually lost out to Rudy Gobert.

Simmons' stats from the last season were the lowest he has ever averaged in his career. So he will be determined to prove his doubters wrong by putting up terrific performances next season and help his team make another trip to the playoffs.

#2 Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic is easily one of the best young players in the NBA. In just three years the youngster has proven his brilliance and become a superstar in the league. Last season, he averaged 27.7 points per game at 47.9% shooting from the field. Doncic was incredible all season, helping the Mavs to a fifth-place finish in a stacked Western Conference.

The Slovenian also averaged eight rebounds per game, out of which 7.2 were defensive boards. He had 11 triple-doubles last year, and he'll hope to boost those numbers when he takes the court for the Mavs this season. After signing a massive five-year $207 million contract, Doncic will want to lead his team to another deep playoff run.

Russell Westbrook was one of the biggest moves the LA Lakers made this offseason. His brilliance on the court and ability to give 100% day in and day out make him one of the best point guards in the league. In 65 games Russ played for the Washington Wizards last year, he averaged 22.7 points per game.

The 32-year-old also averaged 11.5 rebounds and 11.7 assists per game. That marked the fourth time he has averaged a triple-double in a season. 9.9 of the 11.5 boards were at the defensive end. There were times last season where Russ' brilliance at the defensive end won games for the Wizards

His arrival makes the Lakers a tough team to beat. Westbrook will hope for a great season with the Purple and Gold, and win his first championship. That could guarantee his status as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history.
