No. 3: 2018-19 (8.5 rebounds)

During his first season with the Lakers, all eyes were on LeBron James and what he could do with a young core. James, being available for only 55 games because of a groin injury suffered against the Golden State Warriors, averaged 27.4 points, 8.3 assists and 8.5 rebounds while shooting 51% from the field.

LeBron James' season high in rebounds came against his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. His stat line that night read 32 points, seven assists and 14 rebounds while shooting 55% from the field.

James had two more games against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Clippers that season, where he recorded 14 rebounds in each.

No. 2: 2017/18 (8.6 rebounds)

In his final season for the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James averaged 27.5 points, 9.1 assists and 8.6 rebounds while shooting better than 54% from the field and more than 36% from 3-point range. Unfortunately for James and the Cavs, the season ended in a defeat in the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors as the Kevin Durant-led Warriors team overcame the Cavaliers in four games.

James' season high for rebounds came in a win against the Boston Celtics, as King James grabbed 16 rebounds along with 29 points and nine assists as the Cavaliers beat the Celtics by three points.

In another win against the Charlotte Hornets, LeBron James had 16 rebounds, with 15 of them being on the defensive side.

No. 1: 2016/17 (8.6 rebounds)

All eyes were on the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James as they went into the 2016-17 season as kings of the mountain after improbably coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the 2016 NBA Finals. They were at the very least expected to make another trip to the NBA Finals, and that is exactly what they did. Unfortunately, LeBron James and Co. lost in the Finals yet again to the Golden State Warriors.

In a loss against the Miami Heat, LeBron James managed to grab 17 rebounds with 14 of them on the defensive side.

James had five games during the regular season, where he had 14 or more rebounds. King James averaged 26.4 points, 8.7 assists and 8.6 rebounds while shooting better than 54% from the field for the season.
