Tyler Herro has continued to play at a high level in his first season as a starter. The fourth-year shooting guard is averaging 21.4 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, 4.2 assists per game, 0.9 steals per game, and 0.4 blocks per game while shooting 45.5% from the field, 40.8% from three-point range, and 90.9% from the free-throw line, all career-highs.
Despite his production and the Miami Heat's reluctance to deal him, Herro's name has remained in trade rumors. One potential trade partner could be the Atlanta Hawks. If the Hawks decide to part ways with All-NBA point guard Trae Young, who is reportedly disgruntled, Miami will likely look to get involved with a package centered around Herro.
The Heat's potential package for Young, which could include three tradable first-round picks and three pick swaps, could intrigue the Hawks. If Atlanta does decide to move on from Young, however, there will surely be other teams that will be able to top Miami's bid.
Another potential trade partner is the Chicago Bulls, who could look to move All-Star shooting guard Zach LaVine. While it is unknown if the Heat would offer Herro in a LaVine swap, it would not be surprising if they did, as a potential deal could allow them to unload the contract of Kyle Lowry or Duncan Robinson. Adding an All-Star alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo should make sense, however, Herro and LaVine have played at a similar level this season.
Finally, the Philadelphia 76ers could be a potential destination. It is no secret that if the Miami Heat move Herro, they would like to receive an upgrade in return. 2017-2018 NBA MVP James Harden represents an upgrade for the win-now Heat. While the 76ers are also in win-now mode, rumors have begun to swirl about Harden's potential departure following the season.
If Philadelphia believes that the ten-time All-Star will leave, acquiring a player like Herro, who fits the timeline of Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, makes a lot of sense. While Miami could be reluctant to move Herro for a pending free agent, if Pat Riley believes he can convince Harden to re-sign, he could dangle Herro to go all-in on maximizing the final stages of Jimmy Butler's prime.

Tyler Herro doesn't mind being traded but prefers to stay with the Miami Heat
Tyler Herro's name has swirled in trade rumors seemingly since the Miami Heat made him the 13th overall selection in the 2019 NBA Draft. Prior to the season, Herro opened up to the Miami Herald about the trade rumors, stating:
“I mean, at this point, I don’t really care. I can get traded or I can stay here, I don’t care. I just want to play. I want to play my game, have fun and I want to be wanted. Wherever they want me, I want to be.”
Herro did share that he would like to remain with the Heat, adding:
“I want to be here. I want to be in Miami, but I’m not rushed to sign anything. It’s got to make sense for me and my family. I’m not just going to sign anything. I see the market, I see what guys got paid and I know my worth so I’m looking for the right number.”
While Tyler Herro shared that he is willing to play anywhere, he ultimately signed a four-year, $130 million contract extension with the Heat that will kick in next season.
