LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers kicked off their season last night in Golden State.

Unfortunately for James and the rest of the Lakers roster, the team lost their season opener to the defending champs 123-109. For a team that is looking to improve on a lackluster previous season, the loss came as a definite setback.

James' three-for-ten shooting average from behind the three-point line was absolutely disastrous, with the star admitting following the game that the shots simply weren't falling.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, James fielded questions from members of the media after the game, where he was asked about his draft day fit. As fans couldn't help but point out, the suit James was wearing was incredibly similar.

The white suit LeBron James wore following the team's loss to the Warriors was one that many felt looked much better than his draft-day suit. When LeBron James was asked about his draft suit and what he would tell his 18-year-old self, the four-time NBA champion spoke about the situation, candidly saying:

"The fabric is definitely got a lot less, I've definitely brought the pants in a lot less, the jacket has gotten a lot less, the fabric style from 2003 to 2020 is like a whole different dimension. ... They always ask the question, what would you tell your 18-year-old self? I would tell him to pick a smaller size in that suit."

For LeBron James, the question about the suit served as a light-hearted moment in a press conference that was largely mired in disappointment. Throughout the course of the game, several Lakers players struggled offensively, specifically James and the recently acquired Patrick Beverley.

The Los Angeles Lakers season opener - Where do LeBron James & the team go from here?

The disappointing loss for LeBron James and The Lakers has completely divided Laker nation. Some fans feel as though the team simply needs more time to build chemistry on the floor together after the Big 3 played just over 20 games together last season. Others are mad at Rob Pelinka for a lack of offseason moves.

Despite a great showing from Russell Westbrook, the team shot a mere 10 for 40 from behind the three-point line. Anthony Davis went 0 for 3 from three, while Patrick Beverley shot a disappointing 1 for 5 from three. Lonnie Walker IV and Juan Toscano-Anderson both shot 0 for 3 from three as well.

It was a rough first outing for the team from behind the three-point line, however there were some bright points for the storied franchise as well.

On the defensive end, the team looked to be holding each other more accountable. Whereas last season the Lakers would be left staring at one another after a missed rotation, the team seemed locked in on defense during stretches of play.

Although the Lakers lost, optimists can hang their hats on moments where the team looked like playoff contenders. With the season only just beginning, only time will tell whether the franchise will be able to build on the momentum while overcoming the low points from the season opener.
