Javonte Green is currently playing on his second NBA contract. He signed the first contract in the league in 2019 as the Boston Celtics picked him up. Green is now with the Chicago Bulls and is playing in the last year of his contract with the team.

The 29-year-old swingman has played in the NBA for three years. He declared for the 2015 NBA Draft, but after going undrafted, he decided to play professionally overseas.

Javonte Green was great in the 2021-22 season with the Bulls. However, it will be interesting to see if the team retains his services after this season as he's playing on an expiring contract.

Javonte Green's contract expires next summer

The Chicago Bulls opened their season with a huge victory over the Miami Heat. Despite missing Zach LaVine and playing in Miami, the Bulls put on a great show and won 116-108.

Javonte Green spent 18 minutes on the floor and had a decent performance off the bench. He scored six points and grabbed three rebounds. Green also had a steal and an assist, and the Bulls were +8 with him on the floor.

The Bulls need decent backups, so there is a good chance that Javonte Green's contract will be extended if he keeps playing well. He signed his current contract in August 2021, but it expires next summer.

The 6-foot-4 guard signed a two-year deal with the Bulls worth $3.5 million. He will be paid $1.8 million for his services this season, but after that, he will be an unrestricted free agent.

Considering that Javonte Green will be 30 at the start of next season, he still has a few more years left to play. However, he will have to play well and show the Bulls and other suitors that he can be a valuable backup.

Green's first contract in the league was also a two-year deal, but was worth less than $2 million in total. He earned his contract after performing decently in the 2019 NBA Summer League with the Celtics.

How far can Chicago Bulls go?

The Chicago Bulls beat the heavily-favored Miami Heat in their season opener. DeMar DeRozan was fantastic as he scored 36 points on 14-for-22 shooting. He also added six rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and a block to his boxscore.

The Bulls finished last season as the sixth seed in the East. Unfortunately, they were knocked out by the Milwaukee Bucks in only five games in the first round of the playoffs.

While the Bulls have a great roster that could have a deep playoff run, this season could be a disappointment as well. Zach LaVine missed the season opener and will most likely miss more games due to knee issues.

The Bulls will also be without Lonzo Ball as his return date is still unknown. DeRozan is a fantastic player, but the East has drastically improved over the past few years and it will be hard to achieve great results without his co-stars.

However, it's too early to correctly predict how the season will go for the Bulls. While they are not favorites to win it all, they could have a decent season and a deep playoff.
