What were Steve Nash's contract details with the Brooklyn Nets? All you need to know

Indiana Pacers v Brooklyn Nets
NBA Hall of Fame point guard Steve Nash

Steve Nash was fired from his position as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets just seven games into the 2022-2023 NBA season. While Nash had a legendary eighteen-year career that landed him in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, he was unable to find the same success as a head coach.

While the Nets were strong in the regular season, with a record of 94-67 under Nash, they did not find the same success in the postseason. Despite being among the NBA title favorites under Nash, the Nets were only able to win one postseason series.

Although Nash did not have previous experience as a head coach, he was awarded a four-year, $35 million contract that paid him just under $9 million per year. While he was fired seven games into the third year of the contract, coaching contracts are fully guaranteed, so Nash will receive the full total of the contract.
