Where does the number of Miami Heat championships rank amongst NBA teams?

The Miami Heat have always been top contenders in the Eastern Conference. However, not everyone who has played for the organization has brought success to the team the way LeBron James and Dwyane Wade did during their time there. Wade was responsible for bringing home three championships for the Heat. One with Shaquille O'Neal, and the other two with his best friend LeBron James.

Unfortunately, no other players either before or after LeBron James and Dwyane Wade's time won any championships in Miami. With that in mind, it makes one wonder where the team ranks in terms of total championship wins.

Over the years, fans have witnessed numerous matchups between the two teams. Bill Russell versus Elgin Baylor, Larry Bird versus Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant versus Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

Both teams are decorated and have produced many legends throughout the years. The Celtics and Lakers are currently tied at 17 championships respectively. However, Boston will take the lead if Jayson Tatum carries the squad to a title this season.

#3 Golden State Warriors (7 Championships)

The Golden State Warriors is the home of the legendary Wilt Chamberlain. Ironically, Chamberlain never won a championship with the organization.

From 1947-1975 the Warriors managed three titles. Forty years later, during the era of Steph Curry, Golden State became champions once again, winning four titles between 2015 and 2022.

Dwyane Wade found success early in his career when he won the Miami Heat their first title in franchise history back in 2006.

Nobody knew if he could win it again till LeBron James and Chris Bosh decided to take their talents to South Beach. Since their arrival, the trio won two back-to-back rings in 2012 and 2013, bringing the Heat's total championship wins to three.
