Alabama Crimson Tide wing Brandon Miller was hoping to make noise in his freshman season. After playing in seven games during the NCAA season, Miller's ability has gotten the attention of plenty.

Brandon Miller was ranked ninth by ESPN among the top 100 high school basketball recruits. Listed at 6'9, 200 pounds, Miller was expected to be a potential offensive weapon for the Crimson Tide this season. He came into the 2022-23 season with the expectation of being a raw scorer with upside.

What wasn't expected was just how quickly Miller would find his groove. The freshman wing has been sensational. He's currently averaging 19.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game for Alabama. Miller is also shooting 40.0% from the field and 48.0% from 3-point range.

Sports Illustrated NBA draft analyst Jeremy Woo recently praised Miller, saying that he's cemented himself as a potential lottery selection.

"The upside tied to what he does is substantial, and Miller has squarely entered lottery discussions around the league," Jeremy Woo said.

After the first four games of the 2022-23 NCAA season, Alabama found itself undefeated. With a spot in the Phil Knight Invitational, it would present the first opportunity for Brandon Miller to prove himself against elite competition.

Miller would impress throughout the week, showcasing the tools he has to be an elite prospect in the 2023 NBA draft class. In his first two games, the 20-year-old wing went up against Michigan State and UConn. Miller would average 21.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in those matches while shooting 38.2% from the field.

Alabama has continued to put the ball in the hands of their talented freshman wing. Miller has the vision and playmaking upside to be a grab-and-go threat, especially in transition. His low assist numbers won't tell the whole story, as Miller can create open opportunities for his teammates.

It hasn't taken long, but Brandon Miller has quickly become the darling of the college basketball world. NBA scouts are smitten with the potential that Miller has on both sides of the floor. At 6'9", with the versatility and upside to be a three-level scorer, Miller has drawn comparisons to LA Clippers star Paul George.

Time will tell if Miller will continue to blossom into a potential superstar at the next level. For now, scouts are going to be watching closely to see if Miller can be consistent with his efficiency. While Miller has been impressive as an outside shooter to start the year, his finishing around the rim has left many wanting more.
