Jonathan Isaac's wife, Takita Nicole, became a big part of his life as he worked on returning to the court. After suffering an ACL tear in the 2020 NBA bubble, Isaac missed the next two years while recovering. When Jonathan Isaac made his return to the Orlando Magic starting lineup on Monday, fans were curious about more than just his recovery.

When NBA player Jonathan Isaac was drafted in 2017, he had no idea what a blessing his newfound fame and fortune would bring. More than just a successful career, his success brought him Takita Nicole, the woman who would become his wife. The two reportedly met as a result of being active Christians, with Nicole being a Christian rapper.

While there are conflicting reports as to whether or not the two are married, it appears they tied the knot back in 2021, according to TVOverMind. Although there had been no extravagant wedding announcement, Nicole posted a photo of the two with the caption "two more days". This led many to believe that the private couple tied the knot in secret after announcing their engagement in May of 2021.

During his recovery from ACL surgery, the couple were spotted at a Christian festival in Orlando where Jonathan Isaac's wife performed. He spoke to The Orlando Sentinel about the importance of being an active spiritual leader in his community:

“I want to think of it as a whole community thing that rises and I know that a lot of times the manifestations of what’s going on there’s something behind it that’s lethal. It’s not just about us playing great, it’s not just about the community coming together. It’s about the spirit that’s behind it."

Jonathan Isaac's wife and her role in his faith

It's no secret that Isaac's faith is very important to him. When he was the one Magic player not to kneel in honor of police brutality during the NBA bubble, Isaac cited his faith as the reason. Given that Jonathan Isaac's wife is notably involved in Christianity, it's no wonder the two gravitated toward each other.

With his lengthy two-season layoff following his ACL tear, Isaac likely went through some periods of struggle. Thanks to Jonathan Isaac's wife, it sounds as though he has a great support system.

After being drafted as the sixth overall pick in the 2017 draft by Orlando Magic, Isaac was assigned to the Lakeland Magic just before the start of the new year. This gave him an opportunity to rehab an ankle sprain he suffered earlier in the season.

In his sophomore year during the 2018-19 season, Jonathan Isaac became a key starter for the Magic, playing in 75 games and showing flashes of brilliance. Unfortunately, the very next year, as he looked to grow into his role, he suffered a knee contusion in January that kept him sidelined for much of the season before suffering an ACL tear in the bubble.

During his successful return to the floor on Monday night, Isaac put up 10 points in nine minutes while hauling down three rebounds and recording two steals. The performance helped him and the team end the Boston Celtics' nine-game win streak.

As he continues to find his rhythm and returns to the court, Jonathan Isaac's wife will likely be there in the stands watching him.
