The Elder Scrolls is a series of action role-playing video games primarily developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The series focuses on free-form gameplay in an open world. The Elder Scrolls: Arena, the first of the series was released in 1994.

Bethesda Software’s Elder Scrolls is one of the most celebrated franchises in the company, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim being their biggest title yet. The games are role-playing, open-world titles set in a medieval fantasy world.

Since debuting with Arena in 1994, the series has produced a total of five main games as well as several spin-offs. In 2014, a multiplayer online role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls Online, was released.

The Elder Scrolls 6 soon to follow suit in coming years. Bethesda had first announced the arrival of the title back in E3 2018, however, there are yet to be any major developments surrounding it in recent times. It’s rumored that its development is still in its pre-production phase, as Bethesda are much more focused on getting their upcoming title Starfield ready for launch.
