Other than on PC, Counter-Strike 2 will only be available on Valve's own handheld gaming system, the Steam Deck.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive can be played on the Steam Deck at 1280x800 with a steady 60 frames per second. The game is not at all taxing, but when Counter-Strike 2 is released later this year, the handheld console's performance may suffer.
There are currently other Windows and Linux-based handheld consoles on the market, but their performances may differ. If you intend to purchase a Counter-Strike Steam Deck, keep in mind that the 64GB model has an eMMC storage drive while the 256GB and 512GB models have NVMe SSDs, which are much faster at reading and writing data.
The touchscreen and the in-built joysticks will be your only options for aiming since you won't be able to use a keyboard and mouse. It might not be the ideal way to play the game, but it is still a choice if you want to play it while you're on the go. Players will have to wait for a formal announcement from Valve regarding other console platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch in the event that Counter-Strike 2 is released on consoles.
Is Counter Strike 2 on Xbox?
At this time, there is no indication that Counter-Strike 2 will ever be released on consoles. Due to the use of mouse and keyboard peripherals rather than a controller, the franchise has historically been most comfortable on PC.
At this time, Valve has not discussed the prospect of bringing CS2 to any additional platforms, such as the Xbox Series X and S. Therefore, fans who are not PC users would be wise not to hold their breath in anticipation of a release on their preferred platform any time soon.
Will Counter Strike 2 be on Mac?
There are numerous ways to play Windows-only games on a Mac, but none of them work with Counter-Strike 2. Even if you were able to run Counter Strike on a Mac by installing Windows using Parallels, the Valve anti-cheat program would prevent this from happening.
And even if you were able to get Counter-Strike 2 working using a different method, like CrossOver, the game would be virtually unplayable due to lag and poor graphics handling. Since none of the cloud gaming services have access to the Counter-Strike 2 beta, they are also excluded.
The only approach that might work to run Counter-Strike 2 on a Mac is to install Windows using Boot Camp, but this would only be possible with Intel-based Macs and isn't guaranteed to work. It's also unlikely that Boot Camp would function well with Valve's Source 2 engine, the foundation for Counter-Strike 2. Therefore, Mac users currently have no other option if they want to play the newest Counter Strike 2.
Will Counter Strike 2 be on PS5?
Unfortunately, the PlayStation 5 is not likely to receive Counter-Strike 2. At least they don't have any plans right now to release it. Only the fact that a PC (Steam) release this summer is a part of Valve's current plans has been made public.
On the console, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was also released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but neither of those platforms received a PS4 or Xbox One port. Additionally, all recent Valve games are PC-only, including Artefact, Half-Life: Alyx, and others.
There are currently very slight chances for the release of Counter-Strike 2 on consoles. The main problem is that Steam, Steam Workshop, and Steam trading are all intrinsically linked to the CS:GO skins ecosystem. Simply put, these things don't exist on consoles, and due to the way the Xbox Series X, Series S, and PlayStation 5 work, it would be impossible to implement anything similar on those systems.
