Who are Brok and Sindri?
Over the course of their journey, Kratos and Atreus meet several people but the first one they meet is Brok, with his brother Sindri entering the picture soon after. The two are blacksmith dwarves who began their lives as relatively unknown blacksmiths but to get the fame they desired, forged a weapon for the Aesir God of Thunder; Thor. Their efforts, especially Sindri’s, impressed Odin and Thor but the duo began to feel guilty after Thor used it to cause destruction.
In order to repent, the two forged the Leviathan Axe and gifted it to Laufey the Just as they knew she was the last Guardian of Jotnar in Midgard and a good person. However, despite that, the rift caused after they built Thor’s hammer, with Brok openly blaming Sindri, eventually split the two brothers before the events of God of War (2018) took place. They split their original smithing brand and went their separate ways.
What happens in the mission “Second Hand Soul” in God of War?
God of War includes a plethora of side missions that are essential not only to explore the game universe, but also to gain various upgrades. Brok gives one of these side-quests to Kratos and Atreus, asking them to find his lost comrade, Andvari the Alchemist. To begin the quest, go to the Volunder Mines, which are just to the left of the Cliffs of The Raven.
How to find the Alchemist in God of War
Kratos and Atreus will meet Brok and his shop at the front gate of Volunder Mines just at the end of the route before Volunder Mines. After speaking with him, he will urge the pair to locate an alchemist who lives within the mines and will additionally give them the Volunder Mines Entry stone.
Enter Volunder Mines with the key Brok gave you. Continue forward and down to the lower floor.
Then, proceed to the gate through which a monstrous creature - the Soul Eater - passed, made up of the bodies of defeated foes.
After dealing with Velva in the huge cave, proceed to the right and look for a closed runic door. To open it, you must first break all three seals that guard it.
You must defeat the boss (a Soul Eater) in this room by using red jugs on the battlefield and taking into account that it is resistant to standard ax attacks.
Naturally, as a result, you won't find the alchemist, but you will still have the ring Brok mentioned. When Kratos gives Brok the ring, that will be sufficient to complete the mission.
