Oliver Oakes is a former British racing driver who now serves as the team principal for the Alpine Formula 1 Racing team. He was born on January 11, 1988, in Norfolk, England. Oakes is the second-youngest team principal in F1 history. His father, Billy Oakes, was also a racing driver and the founder of the Eurotek Motorsport racing team, a junior racing team that competes in the Formula Renault and British F3 Championship series. Oliver started karting at four.

His racing career took off after he won the British Open Championship twice at the age of 12. In 2005, when he was 17 years old, he won the Karting World Championship. After achieving success and fame in the karting world, he enrolled himself in the Red Bull Young Drivers’ Program. Mastering the skills with legends like Sebastian Vettel, Brendon Hartley, and many more makes Oakes a better competitor for the future. His first debut in an open-seater came in 2006, when he was appointed as the driver for Formula BMW with Cralin Motorsport. After retiring from racing, he went on to become the director of the Hitech GP Racing team in 2015. In 2024, the Alpine F1 team announced that Oakes would be appointed as the new team principal, replacing Bruno Famini.
