Lauren Coughlin, an American professional golfer, was born on September 27, 1992. The Chesapeake, Virginia native, began playing golf in 1999 at seven. She won the 2009 and 2010 Virginia State Golf Association Girls Championship and was the first female player on the boys' team at Hickory High School. However, she won her first amateur title at the 2012 Virginia Women's Amateur Championship and defended it the following year. She played college golf at Virginia University from 2011 to 2016, earning ACC and All-American honors.

Before turning professional in 2016, she became the world amateur No. 31. She initially played on the Symetra Tour (now the Epson Tour), having her first professional win at the 2018 PHC Classic. She joined the LPGA Tour in 2018, but from 2018 to 2020, she was only able to make six cuts in 24 events. She eventually won the 2024 CPKC Women's Open, her first LPGA Tour victory, and then the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open. As of February 2025, she has not yet won a major; however, her best finishes include tying for third place at the 2024 Chevron Championship and a solo fourth-place finish at the 2024 Evian Championship.
