The purse for the 2025 iteration is $8 million, making it the second-lowest among ladies majors. For more than 30 years, the date of the event has been changed several times, from June, July, and September, before returning to July in 2019.
The Amundi Evian Championship History
When the Amundi Evian Championship began in 1994 at the Evian Resort Golf Club, it was simply known as the Evian Masters. The Ladies European Tour (LET) recognized it at first, but the Ladies Professional Golfers Association (LPGA) co-sanctioned it in 2000, and both tours recognized it as a major in 2013. As a result, it was renamed the Evian Championship.
Amundi was introduced as a prefix in 2021 for sponsorship reasons. The field changed as the event progressed from regular to major. In 2007, the 78-player field with no cut was modified to a cut tournament featuring 90 players. In 2013, the field grew to 120 golfers for a full field.

The Amundi Evian Championship 2025 will be hosted by Evian Resort Golf Club's Champions Course in Evian-les-Bains, France.
The club was formed in 1904 and has two courses: the Champions Course and the Lake Course. The Amundi Evian Championship is played on the latter course, a conventional 18-hole par-71 course measuring 6,333 yards (5,791 meters). In 2012-13, Steve Smyers and European Golf Design renovated the entire course, with a concentration on the tees, fairways, greens, and bunkers.
