Caleb Plant made his professional boxing debut on May 10, 2014, against Travis Davidson in a successful and dominant outing in the squared circle. He went on a tear and amassed a multi-fight winning streak before landing an opportunity for the IBF super middleweight title on January 13, 2019. Plant challenged Jose Uzcategui for the IBF super middleweight title in the fight. He won by a unanimous decision and walked away with the belt.

Plant lost his belt after three successful defenses to Canelo Alvarez on November 6, 2021. He beat him by an eleventh-round TKO to win the championship. The 32-year-old American boxer faced Trevor McCumby on September 14, 2024, for the vacant WBA interim super middleweight championship. Plant defeated McCumby by a ninth-round TKO to win the belt.
