Steve Erceg broke into the professional mixed martial arts scene in 2016 and has been a part of 15 professional bouts as of March 27, 2025. Currently a part of the leading professional mixed martial arts promotion, the UFC, Erceg competed in various fight promotions before making his way into the premiere fight organization.

Steve Erceg locked horns with Ryan Robertson on February 12, 2016, at CDL Supercard in a flyweight showdown in his first fight as a professional fighter. He clutched Robertson into a guillotine choke in the second round and submitted him to pick up a win and start his career on a winning note. Erceg defeated Shannon Ross on March 7, 2020, at Eternal MMA 52 by first-round submission to win the Eternal MMA flyweight title.

In his first fight for the promotion, he squared off against David Dvorak and came up victorious by bettering Dvorak by a unanimous decision. He squared off against Sean Gauci in his second professional fight at Hex Fight Series 11 on September 1, 2017, in Melbourne, Australia. His second loss came against Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 301 when Erceg was challenging Pantoja for the UFC flyweight championship at UFC 301.
