Stipe Miocic is a mixed martial artist who competes in the UFC heavyweight division and is currently ranked as the No.2 contender in the weight class.
The American made his octagon debut in 2011 against Joey Beltran at UFC 136 and won via decision.
Likewise, Miocic became the UFC heavyweight champion for the first time at UFC 198 against Fabricio Werdum on May 14, 2016. He had defended the title thrice before losing it to Daniel Cormier at UFC 226 on July 7, 2018. But he fought back the title from Cormier at UFC 241 and defended it from ‘DC’ for one more time in their trilogy fight at UFC 252 on August 15, 2022.
Nevertheless, Miocic, in his last fight at UFC 260, lost his title to Francis Ngannou on March 27, 2021.
Who is Stipe Miocic likely to fight next?
Jon Jones as the next fight for Stipe Miocic
Jon Jones is looking forward to returning to the octagon with a switch in his weight class from light heavyweight to heavyweight division. A former champion like ‘Bones’ can easily skip the death row of contenders and fight the best in the division.
Jones, recently through his tweets, conveyed his urge to fight at UFC 282 and wanting to fight either Stipe Miocic or Francic Ngannou.
However, on October 28, 2022, he tweeted about bringing up all the heat to Miocic for a bout at UFC 282.
Francis Ngannou as the next fight for Stipe Miocic
At UFC 260, Francis Ngannou knocked out Stipe Miocic and got his heavyweight title. It was their second bout in the UFC heavyweight division, and the potential for a trilogy fight that can earn back Miocic his belt can also be under consideration.
Ciryl Gane as the next fight for Stipe Miocic
Cyril Gane is currently the No.1 contender in the heavyweight division above Miocic himself. So Miocic and Gane fighting each other can earn them a shot at the title.
