Power Slap

Power Slap is a combat sport that lets contenders slap each other on their faces and the hardest one to withstand and create an impact wins the matchup. The Power Slap is differentiated gender-wise and also has different weight classes(same as MMA) for competing. A fight has to either end up in a knockout or the winner of the bout will be decided by the judges' scorecard. The scorecard of the bouts was marked as per the damage, effectiveness, receiver's reaction, or recovery.

When did Power Slap start?

The Power Slap was founded by UFC president Dana White in 2022. The first season of the prerecorded reality show Power Slap: Road to the Title was supposed to be premiered on January 11, 2023. However, the launch of the first episode got delayed over a week as Dana White had to face severe criticism and controversies regarding a video of him slapping his wife.

However, Dana White later apologized to the public regarding his misconduct through his social media handles.

Rules and regulations of Power Slap

Like any other sport, Power Slap also follows a set of rules and regulations for the proper functioning of the fight game.

Starting with time, the challenger has 30 seconds to slap and the defender has 30 seconds to receive a slap and recover from it. The position of the slap is key as it should not be placed above the eye or below the chin. Moreover, the challenger should not have full contact with his hand against the defender.

For the defender, he/she should not flinch, raise their shoulder, or tuck in the chin before the slap.

The striker should inform the referee about which hand he/she will use to slap his opponent.
