The 2024 NFL season is set to begin in just a month, and the preseason has already kicked off with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game between the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans a couple of days ago. The other teams will also play their first preseason games this week, allowing players to showcase their skills and compete for spots on the roster.
The training camp for all the NFL teams started over 20 days ago, and like every year, some players suffered injuries. Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was one of the biggest names to get hurt in the camp, raising concerns about his status with the season starting next month.
In this article, I'll mention all the major injuries in this year's training camp and key updates on Herbert, DeAndre Hopkins, and Puka Nacua.

Justin Herbert injury update
Justin Herbert suffered a fracture in the right index finger last season. He played only 13 games during the campaign and has now suffered a foot injury in this year's training camp.
The Chargers quarterback is diagnosed with an injury to the plantar fascia in his right foot and will be in a boot for approximately two weeks. However, the injury is not considered to be serious, and Herbert should be ready to play in Week 1 barring other setbacks.
Puka Nacua injury update
Puka Nacua is coming off an impressive rookie season in which he had 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns in 17 games. Unfortunately, he has suffered a knee injury during the training camp.
The Rams wide receiver dealt with inflammation in his right knee during his rookie season but was able to play all the games. As of now, Nacua is considered to be week-to-week, and it will be unlikely to see him play in the preseason games.
DeAndre Hopkins injury update
Despite all the doubts about his age, DeAndre Hopkins had a decent season with the Tennessee Titans in 2023. The 32-year-old wideout had 75 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns in 17 games.
He was projected to have a big role alongside Calvin Ridley in new head coach Brian Callahan's system, but unfortunately, Hopkins has suffered a knee injury. Although he won't require surgery, the five-time Pro Bowler is set to miss four to six weeks and will be doubtful to play in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears.
In his absence, the Titans wide receiver depth chart will look like this:
- Calvin Ridley
- Tyler Boyd
- Treylon Burks
- Nick Westbrook-Ikhine
