How good was DeAndre Hopkins? Star WR didn’t drop a single pass in entire 2018 NFL season

Houston Texans v Tennessee Titans
In 2018, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was nearly unstoppable for the Houston Texans.

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins' 2018 season with the Houston Texans was certainly one to remember. That season, he had 115 catches for 1,425 yards and 11 touchdowns. But on top of that is an even more impressive stat. He didn't drop a single catch during the entire 2018 season. Not one ball that was headed his way was dropped. Those stats are still a career high for the wide receiver.

The wide receiver was named a First-Team All-Pro that season along with New Orleans' Michael Thomas at the wide receiver position. DeAndre Hopkins also broke Andre Johnson's record for the most receiving yards and receptions in one season.

The 2018 season was an interesting one for the Houston Texans as they started with a 0-3 record. The team then went on to win 11 of the last 13 games of the season, making the playoffs and winning the AFC South divisional title. Houston was defeated by the Indianapolis Colts in the Wild Card round.

He played just one more season with the Houston Texans before he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals in March 2020.

Will the Arizona Cardinals trade WR DeAndre Hopkins?

In 2020, in his first season with the Arizona Cardinals, DeAndre Hopkins eclipsed the 1,400 receiving yards mark, but the past two seasons have seen a decrease in production for the wide receiver. He missed the first six games of the 2022 NFL season due to a suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.

Since the end of the 2022 NFL season, there have been rumblings that DeAndre Hopkins may be on his way out of Arizona. And while he had a no-trade clause that would have allowed him to essentially pick his destination, that is no longer in effect.

NFL Insider Dov Kleiman reported late last week that due to his six-game suspension for PED use, his no-trade clause has been voided. Meaning, the Arizona Cardinals are free to trade him anywhere they choose. This was likely listed on his contract and most other NFL players' contracts as well.

The Cardinals' new coaching staff, led by first-year head coach Jonathan Gannon, hasn't indicated whether or not they will trade the wide receiver. But if they do so before the 2023 NFL draft, it could give the Cardinals additional picks that could help them build for the future.
