CeeDee Lamb is arguably one of the top wide receivers in the NFL and a major asset to the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys' top wideout will be entering the 2023 season with some new ink, a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant. The two-time Pro Bowler had the tattoo done by artist Andres Ortega at Onder Ink in Arizona.
Lamb was looking for a tattoo that covered everything on his backside from the upper part of his traps to the top of his glutes. Per TMZ, Lamb wanted images that represented the fight and what it took to make it from childhood to the NFL. With that in mind, Ortega and his team of four artists quickly went to work.
During some phases of the tattoo process, the team of tattoo artists worked on his back at the same time.
When the tattoo was completed, it was an absolute work of art. In all, Ortega said it took around eight hours to finish and CeeDee Lamb loved it.
What are the items found on the wideout's tattoo? First, there's the legendary photo of Bryant chewing his jersey on his right shoulder blade, along with a black mamba with its tongue out. Next, there's a large image of a jaguar on his left shoulder blade.
Below the jaguar image is a Spartan Warrior and an I-45 sign to the right of that, which is the highway that runs through Dallas. In addition, the tattoo has a crucifix, a crown, and the quote "My Story Isn't Over." The former Oklahoma Sooners player is hoping that the tattoo gives him a season like the one he had last season.
CeeDee Lamb's season was a like a tattoo to remember
Lamb finished in the top 10 in the league in receptions (107), yards (1,359), and touchdowns (nine). It was the third-most receptions and fifth-most yards in a single season for the Cowboys. For CeeDee Lamb, it was the second consecutive 1,000-yard season.
We'll see if having Bryant etched on his body gives Lamb a 2023 season better than the one he had the season before.
