Damar Hamlin was present for Super Bowl LVII, where the Kansas City Chiefs topped the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35. He sat in the stands with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Jason and Travis Kelce's mother, Donna.

He wore a pricy $3,150 Takashi Murakami "Travis Jesus" jacket with a modified crucifix on the back of it. Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson didn't appreciate Hamlin's choice of attire.

Per TMZ, Peterson said:

"You should be thanking God son! This is Blasphemy!! We all fall short but c'mon man! I find this disrespectful!! #grateful #goddid."

Peterson believes Hamlin was being far too cavalier at the Super Bowl, especially after what amounts to a modern miracle was performed to bring him back to life on the football field after he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Former running back Fred Taylor didn't share the same sentiment as Peterson, saying:

"You should DM him bro…I’m sure he’s listen to your opinion. Posting it doesn’t help anyone. He’s young, young ppl don’t always think before they wear things just like people who wear skulls and other things that doesn’t align with Christian beliefs. Try to reach him."

Peterson didn't want to hear it, though:

"But this was different! I know young people don’t think at times, older as well! But with everything surrounding his situation!! This isn’t one of those moments where it’s a young guy not thinking!"

TMZ reported that Hamlin has not responded to the situation as of now. Before the game started, the team that saved the young safety's life was honored on the field with Hamlin beside them to watch.

What's next for Damar Hamlin?

Since he was able to attend the game and be on the field, it's clear that Damar Hamlin's recovery is going well. Cardiac arrest is not something everyone survives and it's definitely not easy to recover from.

However, Hamlin is currently rehabbing and will look forward to a potential return to football in 2023. Doctors have assured him that he could play football again if he wants, so his health won't be the end of his career right now.
