Could this be the last season that both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers play in the National Football League? Mike Florio and former NFL quarterback Chris Simms spoke about the Green Bay Packers' issues this season on the Pro Football Talk podcast on Thursday morning.

Florio said that he believes Aaron Rodgers may have some regrets about re-signing last year and taking on such a big contract. This not only kept him with the team longer but also prevented them from signing bigger offensive targets.

Florio then said that he doesn't see Aaron Rodgers or Brady returning to the NFL next season. He's getting a sense that they both may decide that this season will be their last.

"I think there's some regret from Aaron Rodgers now. He's getting handsomely paid this year. He got a major contract to stick around, but I can't imagine Rodgers or Brady being back next year."

Both Rodgers and Brady are in similar situations. Both their teams currently have a .500 record after six games. Both have offenses that are currently sputtering and unable to achieve the type of success that they are used to having. That may be enough for both quarterbacks to call it a career after the 2022 NFL season.

Tom Brady says that retirement isn't in his future

Brady's weekly media availability was on Thursday afternoon, and he was asked by reporters if he would quit this season. This rumor has been circulating over the last few days, since the Bucs are currently at .500. Brady's reply was emphatic.

“I love the sport, and I love the teammates. And I want to go do a great job for this team like I always have. No retirement in my future.”

The quarterback joked with reporters that he was actually there to announce his retirement. However, he then seriously asserted that he is committed to playing with his team and that he wants to do the best he can.

This is the final year of the seven-time Super Bowl winner's contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many assume he will decide to officially retire after the season because he had already done so once in the offseason.

However, this perhaps isn't the last dance for the 45-year-old quarterback. Maybe he still does have more playing days ahead of him. Whatever the case, it appears that he is still locked in to lead the Bucs to success this season.
