Dolphins vs Bills weather forecast: Buffalo meteorologist warns Tua Tagovailoa and Co. to brace for “Arctic” greeting and windchill

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been warned to expect 'Arctic' like conditions when his team plays the Miami Dolphis in Buffalo on Saturday.

He was born in 'Ewa Beach, Hawaii, where each year the average temperature is around 82 degrees Fahrenheit and doesn't typically drop below 65 degrees. On Saturday, though, Tagovailoa will lead his Dolphins team onto the Highmark Stadium in snow with the temperature expected to be in the low 30s and inches of snowexpected to fall in Buffalo and the surrounding upstate New York area.

Patrick Hammer, the Chief Meteorologist at WGRZ in Buffalo, New York, put out a warning to the Dolphins quarterback this week. Hammer, who, like Tagovailoa, has lived in Miami, said that the quarterback is in for an Arctic blast when he arrives in Buffalo.

In an interview with the Palm Beach Post this week, Hammer said that while Tagovailoa has played in Buffalo in the winter before, this will be unlike he has ever experienced. While the temperature may be in the low 30s, windchill could make it feel like in the teens.

"During the game, snow is expected to develop, and it could be heavy at times. Temperatures will be in the 20s, which quite frankly is not terribly cold, but it will feel Arctic compared to South Florida. Also, with the wind, windchill values will be in the teens."- Patrick Hammer

He suggested that Tagovailoa wears a lot of layers if he can without inhibiting his mobility. That's because the conditions would not be like anything he has ever played in before.

"I know the transition Tua is in for. I suggest layers if possible. Whereas we know he's played in Buffalo cold before, Saturday will be a totally different animal."-Patrick Hammer

This will be a rude awakening for the Miami Dolphins in many ways. The Dolphins are coming off back-to-back losses to the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Last week, while playing at the SoFi Stadium, which is nearly completely enclosed, the Dolphins had heaters on the sidelines, as the temperature outside was around 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

Tua Tagovailoa not worried about Buffalo weather

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa isn't worried about the snowstorm and frigid temperatures expected for Saturday night's AFC East divisional matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

The quarterback told media this week that he has played in the snow in the past. He added that it does snow in Alabama, and he has experienced that when he was a freshman for the Crimson Tide.

“It snowed in Alabama, my first year there. Yeah, so, it snows in Alabama, guys. I know, I mean, people don’t know that. There’s some people that just think. … it just gets cold in Alabama. It does snow.”

The quarterback also added that he took part in football drills in the snow when he visited his brother, University of Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa.

While it wasn't the lake-effect snow Tua could face on Saturday, thatat least gave the quarterback the opportunity to see what it felt like throwing in the snow.
