Just days before the Philadelphia Eagles were set to host the San Francisco 49ers, the AP's nominees for "Coach of the Year" were released. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has led his team to the NFC title game in just his second season. The Eagles also had the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs and a first-round bye.

Sirianni wasn't one of the nominees for the coveted award. While Eagles fans have been on social media fuming over the news, morning sports shows were also livid over the fact that the Eagles head coach was left off the list.

NFL Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe said on FS1's "Undisputed" on Thursday morning that he doesn't understand why Sirianni wasn't nominated and wants to know what the voters were looking at when they decided to vote for someone else. He said:

"Absolutely! Who else had the Eagles in the NFC Championship game? To say he doesn't deserve a vote, I don't know what the hell they're looking at."

Sharpe said that Nick Sirianni who led the Philadelphia Eagles to the NFC championship game in a tight NFC East division, is very deserving of a nomination.

NFL Coach of the year favorites boil down to Daboll, Shanahan and Pederson

While Nick Sirianni was snubbed from the "Coach of the Year" award, there are three deserving nominees who have all made a case of their own as to why they are the best in the league. New York Giants first-year head coach Brian Daboll is the first nominee. Daboll turned the Giants around from a 4-13 team last season to a 9-7-1 record this year and a win in the NFC Wild Card round. It was the Giants' first playoff appearance since 2016.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was also nominated for "Coach of the Year." Shanahan has led his team to the NFC West title and will play in the NFC championship game this week. But, the most impressive part of the 49ers season is the fact that they have gone this far with three different quarterbacks due to injuries.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson is also nominated for "Coach of the Year." Pederson, who is in his first season with the team, also made quite the difference in the organization. The Jaguars were 3-14 last season and this season went 9-8 and won the AFC South title and an AFC wild card game. The coach who won the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles has certainly turned things around for the Jags.
