The Buffalo Bills are likely to be the next NFL team to open a new, state-of-the-art stadium. The team expects to open the new stadium in time for the 2026 NFL season at a location across the street from the current stadium in Orchard Park.

The Bills debuted four new renders on their Twitter page on Monday night, and if the photos are accurate, the stadium will spare no expense in its $1.4 billion design.

Despite weather concerns, Buffalo's new stadium will also be an open-air experience.

Although Orchard Park is known for its cold winters and the possibility of snowfall during the season is likely, the new stadium will once again be open-air and will not include a retractable roof. However, the renders appear to show that fans will still be covered by inclemate weather in certain parts of the stadium due to stacked seating.

The exterior of the stadium is described as being innovative while also paying homage to Buffalo's architecture and history. The renderings show a sleek, modern look while also accenting the traditional red brick look.

The design for the new 60,000 seat stadium also features heated concourse areas for Bills Mafia to enjoy during halftime or before the game.

The adjacent area will also feature plenty of parking and spots to tailgate as the loyal fan base is so well-known for doing.

Who is paying for the new Buffalo Bills Stadium?

The new Buffalo Bills stadium is a true necessity for fans, who have been attending games at Highmark Stadium since 1973. While the stadium holds fond memories, it is time for a new and improved fan and player experience for the team.

But, with that new experience, comes a helfty price tag of over $1.4 billion. So, who is paying to fund the new stadium?

About $850 million of the stadium funding will come from tax payers. In March 2022, the Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, announced that the state and the team had agreed to a $1.4 billion, 30 year lease agreement. This includes funding from state and county taxes.

However, this has caused controversy due to those who don't wish to pay for the new stadium.

Although this has been an issue that the state and local community have dealt with, the stadium is still set to break ground within the coming months.
