The Philadelphia Eagles are having a serious season. After grabbing the number-one seed in the NFC, thanks to their 14-3 record, the Eagles are flying.

After slaying the New York Giants 38-7 in the Divisional Round last week, the Eagles came out of the blocks ready for a fight against Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers.

Such has been the Eagles' domination on the ground throughout the year, they have now equaled a 99-year-old record. Yes, you read that right.

With three first-half rushing touchdowns, Philadelphia has equaled the record for the most rushing touchdowns in a season (38) which was previously held by the Frankston Yellow Jackets in 1924.

That is a serious achievement. Much has been made of quarterback Jalen Hurts' ability to run with the ball, but his other running weapons have all contributed to tying this record.

It is unclear if Philadelphia knew about this record in the locker room at half-time, but if they do, we bet they will be hellbent on breaking it.

With a spot in the Super Bowl on the line, Philadelphia's rushing attack took over against what has been one of the best units against the run all season.

Now, with the record being tied, Philadelphia is likely happy to keep the ground and pound going and force the 49ers to essentially submit to their will.

While all the accolades that have come Philadelphia's way this year with the number one seed, the NFC East division title and Hurts being an MVP candidate, breaking a 99-year-old record would be the cherry on top after hopefully getting to yet another Super Bowl appearance.

In all, it has been a sensational season for Philadelphia, and it could get even better over the next few weeks.
