NFL fans fume at Nick Bosa’s Super Bowl comments ahead of Black History Month

San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa seems to be under fire for what some have perceived to be racist comments. With the Super Bowl right around the corner, fans are excited to see Jalen Hurts square off against Patrick Mahomes. Bosa, however, isn't among those excited to see them play.

According to The Athletic's Matt Barrows, Bosa might not even watch the game.

"Nick Bosa on Hurts v. Mahomes: 'that’ll be a good battle — that I won’t be watching,'" Barrows wrote on Twitter.

It's safe to say that most fans weren't impressed by Bosa's comments, with some suggesting racism. Most users shared a few memes and photos, noting that Bosa missing a Super Bowl starring two black quarterbacks wasn't a big surprise for them. There were also some jokes about him missing the NFC Championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles too.

Some fans simply wondered why Bosa made such a statement. A select few agreed with Bosa. For many fans (particularly rival supporters), the Kansas City Chiefs versus Eagles might be a tough watch. It's never easy to see your rivals succeed and the Super Bowl is the biggest stage of them all.

Did Nick Bosa really avoid an African-American fan in the stands?

Last November, Bosa was in the news for apparently ignoring an African-American fan in the stands. The video focused on Bosa approaching his fans in the stands, and gifting a glove to a young fan wearing his jersey.

The fan in question tried to get the other glove. Bosa, however, threw it in another direction.

Of course, there was no real way to gauge what Nick Bosa was thinking. After all, it is common for players to randomly hand out their gear after a game. Some give it away to kids, while others just throw it into the stands.

Fans on social media didn't seem convinced, thinking that Bosa's actions were at least a little suspicious.

Previously, there had been a fake quote connecting Bosa to Kanye West and Candance Owen's 'White Lives Matter' t-shirt. Though the quote was incorrect, one can understand if people were upset after seeing the comment.
