Robert Griffin III, former Heisman winner and star quarterback for the Washington Commanders, shared a photo on Twitter of his family for Christmas. He posted that his family is both interracial and international.

This was backed up by the multiple different nationalities and races present in the large family gathered in front of the Christmas tree. Still, Griffin elected to specify the type of family.

Griffin married Grete Sadeiko, an Estonian woman. Griffin is an American and his wife recently became an American citizen. The families have mixed, drawing many different people groups together.

On Christmas Day, Griffin opted to point out that fact, but NFL fans weren't interested in hearing it. One went so far as to ask him to stop talking about race in general.

NFL fans don't believe there was any reason at all to clarify what kind of family Griffin has. They aren't sure what the thought process was with the post, even wondering how the rest of his family might feel about it.

It's not the first time the former quarterback turned analyst has drawn the ire of NFL fans over a controversy. It may not be the last, either.

Griffin used a racial term on live broadcast without even realizing what he was saying before, so it appears NFL fans don't really want to hear anything about race from the Baylor product.

When was the last time Robert Griffin III played in the NFL?

Right now, Robert Griffin III is known for being one of the more interesting analysts working today, but there was a time when he was one of the most electric players in the NFL.

Injuries derailed a promising career, unfortunately. Griffin was drafted second overall in 2012, one pick behind Andrew Luck. The two were supposed to run the league for a while.

Ultimately, Griffin played for seven seasons. After a debilitating knee injury, he couldn't be the same player and eventually retired early.

He played three years in Washington and then one in Cleveland before finishing his career as a backup in Baltimore with the Ravens. He last played in 2020.
