Odell Beckham Jr. was accused of assault

Last month, new Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was accused of assault at a club in Hollywood. A woman had alleged that the former Super Bowl winner had put his hand around her throat but he denied the allegation.

John Terzian, the owner of that club, said via TMZ:

“We were contacted about an investigation and reviewed the videos, the claim is false. There is no evidence of this person even being in the area where she claims the incident occurred.”

Ultimately, the Los Angeles District Attorney agreed with that take. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detective Juan Bonilla, the lead investigator on the case, said that there was no evidence of an assault and that the claims were unfounded. As a result, the DA isn't pressing any charges.

The video didn't support the purported victim's claims and there were no other witnesses to corroborate her story, thus leaving the authorities no choice but to drop all charges against Beckham.

About a month later, following an intense investigation and review, law enforcement found that there was no evidence to support the claim. On May 23, they announced that the charges would be dropped and Beckham would face no penalty.

This is not the first time the wide receiver has had issues. Beckham faced a charge of simple battery following allegations that he hit a guard in celebration after LSU, the school he attended, won the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020. The warrant was later rescinded.

Additionally, he faced trouble last year. He was removed from a flight after he refused to leave the plane and was reportedly in and out of consciousness. Nothing came of that either.

Beckham signed a one-year deal to join Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
