In a rare sight, the NFL isn't the biggest story of the week. Instead, the WWE and the UFC are grabbing headlines early this week with their recent merger under the same parent company. As such, league pundits are discussing the league more than they usually do.

One such topic that came up on "Good Morning Football" saw NFL analysts Kyle Brandt and Sean O'Hara put together a proposal for a blockbuster event. Here's how it was put by Brandt:

Will the NFL ever have a crossover event with another league?

"Four on four Survivor series match and this is what you do. You do four professional wrestlers who have NFL background versus four current NFL players. So the Survivor series team you got Brock Lesnar, you got Roman Reigns, all former NFL guys who have at least been in training camps."

He continued by naming how Rob Gronkowski could be a part of it:

"You have Bill Goldberg who was with the Falcons and then you have [Pat] McAfee as the team captain. Then you got whoever you want from the NFL. I'm going to grandfather Gronk in... I think [George] Kittle should be part of it. It could even be all tight ends."

Brandt even pitched the idea of getting one of the kings of classic rap to commentate:

"I think you do pay per view. If we can sell tickets to whatever Jake Paul is slapping around, we can do four-on-four in a Survivor series match... one time only. Snoop should be the guest referee... I'm not even joking."

Analyst Sean O'Hara also chimed in, pushing the league to slap it onto Pro Bowl weekend.

What are the NFL's ties to the WWE?

At face value, the NFL and WWE are completely separate entities. However, both have "mutual friends" in a matter of speaking.

George Kittle was just spotted at an event literally throwing down with Pat McAfee. McAfee, meanwhile, has shown up at multiple events in the last year.

It is common knowledge that Rob Gronkowski likes the WWE. Additionally, UFC announcer Bruce Buffer has been spotted on the gridiron giving his famous pre-fight speech with a football twist.

Dwayne Johnson, who has been with both the WWE and the NFL, is managing the XFL, a league that was owned by Vince McMahon, who owned the WWE until recently.

Put simply, both leagues have had a lot of crossovers between mutual partners and employees. Will the leagues eventually commit to an overt event?
